Reflection:  Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale is a lost-and-found story about a little toddler named Trixie who has a stuffed bunny named, "Knuffle Bunny." Knuffle Bunny goes everywhere with Trixie and on this particular day, Trixie, Knuffle Bunny and Trixie's Daddy go to the Laundromat. Trixie's Daddy accidently tosses Knuffle Bunny in the washing machine and on the way home, Trixie relizes that her dear Knuffle Bunny is not in tow. Trixie starts throwing a fit and her desperate cries of, "aggle, flaggle klabble" are meaningless to her Daddy, so they quickly head back to Mommy to see what the fuss is all about. The first thing that Mommy says to Trixie is, "Where is Knuffle Bunny?" and Trixie looks at her relieved that she understands. They head back to the Laundromat and find the soaking wet Knuffle Bunny in the washer with the other wash. Daddy relinquishes his hero-status and Trixie is so happy that she yells, "Knuffle Bunny!!!" which also happens to be Trixie's first, real words spoken. One can spot Mo Willems sweet cartoon drawings, which are superimposed on a muted backgrounds of drab greens. Every family who has had children can relate to the range of toddler emotions in this familiar story.
