Reflection: Goodnight Moon is a classic picture book that is perfect as a bedtime story.  The literacy device it focuses on is repetition.  On every page the book says “goodnight” to a different object.  Rhyming is also used between every two sets of consecutive lines.  What stands out the most is the imagery in this book.  The first pages are in full color, but when you turn to the next page they are shown in black and white.  This process repeats on every other page and helps keep children’s attention focused on the book.
