Reflection:  Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney is a classic bedtime story about a little rabbit, Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare and how Little Nutbrown Hare tries to one-up Big Nutbrown Hare in the volume of love that he has for him. Although both rabbits are genderless, one can easily tell it is of a little one and a parent or parent-figure. This story is easy to relate to because little ones are always coming up with ways to stay up later and also testing parents to make sure that they love their little ones to the ends of the earth. Little Nutbrown Hare comes up with one example after another, such as, "I love you as high as I can hop." He continues on with "I love you right up to the moon" and it's at this last attempt that the little one falls asleep and Big Nutbrown does top it, but only after the little one has fallen fast asleep. This story wouldn't be as popular if it weren't for Anita Jeram's, easily identifiable artworks of soft pen-and -wash illustrations that have made this book a must-have in every library for young people.
