Reflection: The first thing that grabs your attention is the cover of Daniel Kirk’s book, Hush, Little Alien, which has a bright yellow-green colored alien dad with four hands and red gloves holding his alien son. The book is an adaptation of the traditional lullaby, “Hush, Little Baby” and depicts an alien dad singing to his son, trying to put him to bed. The illustrations are outstanding all the way to the end and allows for the reader to sing along with the text. At the end of the book you can kiss your child good night, along with the book as it ends with, “And when that rocket ship takes flight, Papa’s gonna give you a kiss good night!” This book is an excellent sign-along story book to put your child down for a nap or to sleep at night.
