Reflection: Puff the Magic Dragon is a sing along book about a magical land. The song has a repetitive refrain and each stanza includes rhyming. It has full page, colorful drawing that keep the reader’s attention. My favorite thing about this story is what it tells. When Puff loses his life-long friend to death, he becomes very sad until a new friend comes along to cheer him up. This teaches children about mourning and recovering from loss.
